Great animation in this one, Gonzossm, but I think the tastlessness kinda detracts from this a little bit. Still funny - good comic timing - but could've been more subtle

Nice sampler of what is to come. Contrary to the reviewer below, I thought this animationwas full of character, and emotions were well conveyed with over-exaggerated movements and expressions, something which cartoons nowadays rarely bother with. Whislt the comedy was itself lacking (although the quirky animation was quick amusing in itself), I will take this for what it is; a sampler of a pilot, and will not take the lack of laughs into account. Good stuff, I have high expectations from this.

Thought this was going down the more satirical route (since the game's title is 'Pretentious game') so I was kinda let down a little when there was no kinda self-deprecating punchline! However, as pretentious art games go, this is pretty standard - minimalism, depiction of romantic feelings, little gameplay and so on... - although you did a good job conjuring it out so quickly and making it relevant to the theme. So perfectly function art game but by no stretch original or brilliantly fun

Good game but poor design choices

The basic game mechanic was good - although perhaps not best utilised throughout the games levels. Levels are large and open; but layouts seemed mostly confused and disorderly, and whilst I'd often celebrate non-linear design, a better indication of each level's directionality would've gone a long way. An additionaly problem with large and directionless levels came with pickups being scattered everywhere - it was simply not worth the time or effort to collect points since they were by and large randomly scattered throughout the levels. However, I liked the aesthetic - pixel graphics were nice and like earthworm jim in some respects - and the game presently a mostly fair challenge, if a bit poorly balanced. I respect that this game took time to make; but a bit more attention to detail and examining what works and what doesn't would've gone a long way.

Bit reluctant to give this a full 5 star rating, in light of the fact that it's quite cheaply stolen the concept of the notorious yet-to-be-released indie game fez (although some acknowledgement is given in the tags!) But overall, a well designed and programmed game that manages to quite effectively exploit it's core mechanic (although I could imagine a few other ways that could maybe have given the game more depth), with nice pseudo-pixel graphics and serviceable music. This apparently fell under my radar when it came out, and it's only in newgrounds new layout I was able to find it! Shame this did not get a bit more recognition despite the fact that fez's concept is written all over it.
